Wendy Laurent was hired to coach the tight ends in March of 2022 after serving two seasons as a graduate assistant coach at his alma mater, Penn State. In his first season with the Big Green, he mentored Jace Henry to honorable mention All-Ivy League status.

As the offensive line assistant for the Nittany Lions, he helped prepare weekly scouting reports, break down film and coordinate daily practice plans and schedules. He also coordinated the offensive and special teams scout teams, working primarily with the offensive linemen and tight ends. His recruiting area for Penn State extended to New Jersey; Scranton, Pennsylvania; Cincinnati, Ohio; and Texas.

Prior to finishing his graduate degree at Penn State, Laurent was an offensive line graduate assistant at the University at Buffalo for the 2019 campaign. His work helped the Bulls produce a top-10 rushing offense at the FBS level, averaging over 250 yards a game on the ground.

A 2016 graduate of Penn State, Laurent appeared in 34 games on the offensive line during his gridiron career, starting eight games at center. As a junior in 2015, he helped pave the way for Saquon Barkley during his explosive rookie season.
