Q & A with Matt
Why Dartmouth?
I chose Dartmouth because it had the unique balance that I was looking for. It had world-class undergraduate studies as well as excellent Division I Athletics. Furthermore, the culture and physical landscape of the school made me want to commit to Dartmouth. It is a beautiful place and it fits into the wilderness seamlessly, which for me is ideal.
How long have you been running cross country and what got you interested in cross crountry?
I have been involved in Cross Country for 4 years now. I was interested back when I watched my brother run in High School when I saw him perform and race well to national levels. Ever since then, I have realized that running is a natural thing for me and I love it.
Have you won any academic or cross country awards recently?
Last year, I won the Justin Casserly MVP Award for Section Ten XC in New York State.
Tell me something interesting about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates.
Surprisingly, my teammates might not know that I hope to have two major possessions someday. One of them being a PhD and the other being an orchard/bakery that specializes in Blackberry Scones.
What are your future plans, if any?
Besides the above ideas, my future plans are to keep running and improving so that someday I can pursue a short career of professional running and go to graduate school.
