HOPKINTON, N.H.—The Dartmouth cross country teams traveled the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Cross Country Championships on Friday. As a team the men's team placed eighth while the women's team did not generate a team score.
Patrick Dowd paced the Big Green as he finished 10th overall with a time of 24:48.27. First year Noe Kemper was the second member of the Big Green to cross the line as he finished 18th overall.
Senior DJ Matusz finished 32nd overall with a time of 25:26.28. Asher Beck wasn't far behind Matusz as he finished 44th with a time of 25:37.99. First year Keion Grieves closed out scoring for the Big Green as he finished 125th. Tyler Schill and Ayush Saran finished 135th and 166th respectfully.
Anna Banovac was the top finisher on the women's side as she finished 26th overall with a time of 18:32.45. Esme Huh and Erin Karas finished 32nd and 33rd with times of 18:45.52 and 18:47.64. Payton Weiner was the fourth and final member of the Big Green to cross as she placed 85th with a time of 19:38.16.
Marjorie & Herbert Chase '30 Director of Dartmouth Track & Field and Cross Country, Mike Nelson was excited to see some great performances on Friday. "Today was a great opportunity to view the course that will host the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships in a few short weeks. We had several personal bests from the student-athletes that competed. We're happy with the progress that we're making, and we look forward to our next meet at Princeton. Go Big Green!"
The Big Green are back in action on Friday, Oct. 18 at the Princeton Invite.
