Senior (2018-19): Second Team All-American ... Academic All-Ivy Team ... Competed in all 17 matches for the Big Green in the No. 2 position ... finished 10-7 ... swept opponents from Navy, Williams and No. 1 Harvard ... won in four games against No.9 George Washington, Cornell, No. 2 Trinity, St. Lawrence and Brown ... victorious in five games against No. 5 Yale and No. 8 Princeton ... won the Molloy East Division Individual championship by defeating opponents from Bard, MIT, Harvard and Cornell.
Junior (2017-18): Competed in 18 matches at the No. 3 and 4 positions… won 12 matches, including a five-match win streak in the end of the regular season… took five-game wins against No. 15 Cornell, No. 8 Rochester, No. 7 Princeton, No. 13 Brown and No. 14 Navy… helped Dartmouth finish the season ranked No. 5 with a win over his Rochester opponent in the last round of the Potter Cup… swept his opponents from No. 6 Penn and No. 9 Yale in three games each.
Sophomore (2016-17): Competed in 17 matches at the No. 5 and 6 positions… won 12 matches, finishing the season on a four-match win streak… defeated his Princeton opponent in five games for the match-clinching victory in the Hoehn Cup finals.
Freshman (2015-16): Competed out of the No. 3 and No. 4 positions… scored the game winning point to defeat No. 2 Harvard for the first time in 70 years… won 11 of 16 matches played…6-4 in Ivy League play… won five of first six matches of his collegiate debut.
Before Dartmouth: Giegerich was a four-year starter for national powerhouse Springside Chestnut Hill Academy playing number one during his senior year… as team MVP in both his junior and senior years, Giegerich earned first-team All-MASA and first-team Inter-AC League honors… during his senior year, Giegerich finished third in the U.S. Junior National Championship in the BU19 division and was honored as the male winner of the DeRoy Sportsmanship Award… in his junior squash career, Giegerich won numerous singles tournaments and two National Doubles titles.
Personal: Son of Gary and Diana, Matthew is the younger brother of teammate Brian Giegerich.
