Freshman (2010-11): In his first season, Romaniw placed second in the 800 meters at Indoor Heps, which earned him second team All-Ivy ... finished with a time of 1:49.60 ... in cross country, Romaniw proveded depth for the Big Green, finishing in the Dartmouth top five once at the Mayor's Cup.
Before Dartmouth: A four-year letterwinner in track and cross country at St. Thomas More High School, Romaniw also excelled in Badminton for two years and Hockey for three years ... was a three-time captain of the hockey team and led the track and cross country teams as a senior ... in cross country, his team won the GHAC conference championship three out of the four years he competed ... the only year they didn' t win was a second place finish in 2007-08 ... as a senior, he won the GHAC and the OFSAA championship in the 800 meters ... as a freshman, Romaniw was named mvp of the cross country and track teams, following that with track mvp honors as a sophomore and a senior ... away from the running fields, he is interested in music and literature.
Personal: Anthony Romaniw is the son of Gene and Sherry Romaniw and has a brother and a sister ... his brother Chris runs track and cross country at the University of British Columbia ... Anthony would like to study biology and plans on a career in medicine.

Why Dartmouth?
I loved the campus. I always feel like on on a holday while I'm here. The team is just a bunch of great guys that train hard and have a good time all year.
How long have you been doing cross country and what got you interested?
I started freshman year of highschool. My brother and I were always successful as elementary school athletes in the sport and he began seriously in his freshman year as well. He encouraged me to try it and I've grown to love the sport over the past couple years.
Have you won any academic or cross country awards recently?
-GHAC champion (ontario golden horshoe region) 08

Tell me something about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates
I plan on competing in the biathlon in the 2010 vancouver winter olympic games.
What are your future plans, if any?
I hope to become an osteopath and attend grad school in Australia. Training for the 2012 olympics as well.
