Marjorie & Herbert Chase '30 Director of Dartmouth Track & Field and Cross Country
Porscha Dobson announced that Divya Biswal had joined her staff as a volunteer assistant coach with jumps and multis in January 2020.
A 2015 graduate of St. Lawrence, Biswal came to Hanover after spending the previous two years as a volunteer at the University of La Verne.
A native of Ottawa, Biswal is one of the best triple jumpers in all of Canada, ranking second in the event at the national level for four straight years. She is a three-time silver medalist in the triple jump at the Canadian Track & Field Championships, while taking fourth at the 2017 World Francophone Games held at Abidjan in the Ivory Coast.
From 2017 through 2019, Biswal competed on the European track & field circuit and currently ranks eighth all-time on the Canadian triple jump list. She also was the third-best long jumper in the nation during 2018.
While competing at St. Lawrence from 2011-15, Biswal won two Division III outdoor national titles: the 2014 triple jump and the 2015 long jump. A nine-time All-American between the triple and long jumps over indoor and outdoor seasons, Biswal also claimed six regional athlete of the year honors from the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) during her collegiate career.
As a senior, Biswal was tabbed as the USTFCCCA DIII National Field Athlete of the Year.
While at Dartmouth, Biswal continues to train in the hopes of representing Canada this summer at the Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.
