In his first season back with the Big Green, helped the throwers continue to develop. Jacob Shippee won the outdoor javelin at Penn in May, becoming just the second Dartmouth male to win the event in four decades and the first in 10 years.
Many of Forino's throwers have gone on to earn spots at the NCAA East Regional. Additionally, Forino coached Emmaline Berg '13 at the 2016 Indoor USA Championships.
As a recruiter, Forino has proven himself to be one of the best, securing the 2015 National High School Champion in the discus to Dartmouth.
The 2017 outdoor season saw Forino help lead sophomore Olivia Wiener '19 to an Ivy League Heptagonal crown in the javelin. But it wasnt just Wiener who made a splash in the event as Bridget Douglas was second and Moriah Morton took fourth, giving the Big Green 22 points in the event, tied for the most by a team in a single event at the meet.
A 1995 graduate of Keene State College, Forino had served as the men's track & field head coach at Hillsdale since August 2011 before returning to Dartmouth. Prior to his appointment to lead the Chargers' program three years ago, he had served as an associate head coach for eight seasons.
While at Hillsdale, Forino also worked with the strength and conditioning program, designing and implementing workouts for more than 10 sports to improve speed, agility and conditioning. Before his 13-month stint in Hanover, Forino spent time at Springfield College (2000-02), working as an assistant with the men's and women's track & field teams while pursuing his master's degree in athletic administration.
In his career, Forino has coached more than 40 All-Americans, including the 2010 Division II Indoor National Champion in the weight throw.
