Women's Track & Field
at South Florida Invite

Shira Evans, MS, RD, CSSD, joined the DP2 staff in 2016 as the Sports Nutritionist. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field of sport nutrition. Growing up playing sports in high school and college, she had taken personal interest in how optimal nutrition can greatly impact athletic performance and overall well-being. She has cycled across the United States twice, and had the opportunity to educate and train her co-cyclists on how to properly fuel and hydrate during endurance cycling and summer heat. She has also worked with a wide variety of individual athletes, and has provided nutritional support and education on topics such as: fueling prior, during, and after athletic competitions, hydration, bone health, supplementation/ergogenic aids, eating during the off-season, and creating individualized meal plans for daily nutritional needs.
In addition to her experience in sports nutrition, Shira has several years of experience working with both men and women struggling with disordered eating. Through proper nutritional support, and collaboration with other trained professionals, she has helped many individuals restore their health and happiness.
Shira received her bachelors from Ithaca College and completed the Coordinated Program in Dietetics to earn her MS and RD from Framingham State University.
