Senior (2019-20): Season cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic ... raced in the championship 4+ at the Head of the Charles that came in ninth out of 16 boats with a time of 16.40.440 ... raced in the first varsity in both rounds of the Princeton Chase.
Junior (2018-19): Started the season in the 2V boat at Princeton (6:23.2) ... raced in the 2V in the Biglin Bowl against Harvard (5:43.5) ... competed in the 1V at Yale for the Durand Cup (6:06.31) ... raced in the 1V (5:54.06) ... competed in the 1V for the Baggaley Bowl at Cornell (6:06.9) ... raced in the 1V boat at the Eastern Sprints (6:43.287) ... went to the IRA National Championship and rowed in the 4V (6:47.411).
Sophomore (2017-18): Rowed in the varsity eight all season… helped his boat defeat Delaware and Temple (6:33.9), as well as MIT in the Biglin Bowl (5:53.69)… at the Eastern Sprints Regatta helped his boat finish second in the Petite Final (6:17.84).
Freshman (2016-17): Rowed in the four seat of the Freshman 8+ boat that finished in 10th in the Princeton Chase (14:13.32)… at the Green Monster, he sat in the four seat of the Dartmouth B boat that finished second (14:26.1).
Before Dartmouth: Attended St. Joseph's Preparatory School… lettered in Crew his Junior and Senior year… served as Captain his senior year… stroked the Varsity 8 in the Philadephia City Championship and Stotesbury Cup Regatta his Junior year… sat two seat in the Varsity 8 in the Philadelphia City Championship his senior year.
Personal: Matthew Ix is the son of David and Karen Denison Ix… father played Golf at Boston College (Class of 1987)… mother Karen was coxswain at Bucknell University (Class of 1988)… intends to study Engineering at Dartmouth… is interested in Skiing and Mountaineering.
