Sailing - Open & Women's
at Marchiando Team Race

HANOVER, N.H. - John Pearce has been appointed co-head sailing coach at Dartmouth along with John Storck.
Pearce, the head high school/race team coach for the San Francisco Yacht Club from June 2006 to July 2007, has experience as an assistant at Stanford as well as Hobart and William Smith Colleges.
They replace Brian Stanford, Dartmouth's head coach from 2004-07, who resigned earlier this summer.
Pearce and Storck were teammates at Hobart and William Smith. Pearce graduated in 2004 when he was the team captain and an All-America skipper. He was a member of the U.S. sailing team in 2005 and 2006 and is training for the 2007 Olympic trials in the one-person Laser class.
After graduating, Pearce helped his alma mater as an assistant coach when Hobart and William Smith won two national titles during Storck's senior year.
From June 2005 to September 2006, Pearce was the summer program director at Boothbay Harbor (Maine) Yacht Club before joining the Stanford staff from October 2005 to June 2006. The Cardinal won the 2006 Pacific Coast team race and women's championships. Pearce assumed his duties at San Francisco Yacht Club in June 2006.
