Katherine Bjerregaard joined the staff before the end of the 2021-22 season, serving her first full season as an assistant coach during the 2022-23 season. After helping coach the Big Green to third place finishes at the Open and Women's Fleet Race National Championship in 2024, Bjerregaard transitioned to a weekend assistant coach ahead of the 2024-25 season.

A 2019 graduate of St. Mary's College, Bjerregaard was a four-year member of the varsity sailing team. A two-time conference champion and an All-MAISA honoree, Bjerregaard earned a second place in the B Division at the 2018 college sailing nationals and had several top-10 finishes in both the women's and open national championships in 2019.

Since college, she has earned regatta wins at the Edgartown RTI, Leukemia Cup, Safe Harbor Race Weekend, and several others. Most recently, Bjerregaard competed in the 2021 Match Race Grand Slam Series and the Morgan Cup while representing the Bristol Yacht Club.
