Sailing - Open & Women's
vs Harry Anderson Trophy
Why Dartmouth?
I chose Dartmouth because of its challenging academic program and its friendly atmosphere. I like the outdoors, so Dartmouth’s campus and its location also appealed to me.
How long have you been sailing and what got you interested in sailing?
I have been sailing since I was eight years old. I got interested in sailing when I joined a sailing program at a local sailing club.
What Sailing or Academic achievements are you particularly proud of?
I am proud of competing in all types of regattas, from sailing a Laser at Buzzards Bay to being a navigator in a Big Boat Overnight Race. I find it particularly rewarding to be able to teach children to sail.
Tell us something interesting about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates.
I am a dual citizen (United States and Canada). I like to draw, and I look forward to taking some art courses at Dartmouth.
What are your future sailing and career plans?
After I graduate, I hope to continue sailing recreationally. I plan to pursue a career that combines my interests in science and business.
What sports or activities did you pursue in high school, and what do you hope to continue at Dartmouth?
In high school, I was a member of the cross-country and tennis teams. I was also a tutor, editor in chief of the school newspaper, and active in community service. At Dartmouth, I hope to be a member of the sailing team, to continue to volunteer, and to ski in the winter.
