Senior (2015-16): Captain … team’s Most Improved … wrapped up her senior season with an overall record of 2-5 in singles and 7-2 in doubles … in dual matches, she went 1-0 in doubles play … during tournament season, she defeated opponents from Rutgers and UMass … doubles: played one doubles match during the spring, defeating UMass at the No. 3 position with Lexxi Kiven.
Junior (2014-15): Played in one singles match as a junior, defeated BU’s Sophie Wyman, 6-4, 6-2 at No. 6 … appeared in one doubles match with Julienne Keong, falling to UMass at No. 3.
Sophomore (2013-14): During her second year with the Big Green, Tan registered four singles wins and six doubles wins … racked up three consecutive singles wins against Princeton, Cornell and UMass … had a four-match sweep with teammate Julienne Keong.
Freshman (2012-13): In her first year on campus, Tan made an immediate impact for the Big Green, going 7-8 in singles play and 4-7 in doubles action ... opened her dual match career winning four of her first five singles matches ... won her first career Ivy League singles match against Penn ... registered another Ivy League singles victory against No. 35 Yale ... in the middle of the season, she won four straight doubles matches at No. 3 with Janet Liu.
Before Dartmouth: Tan has been ranked in the top 30 in the USTA/Southern California in singles and has won a USTA sportsmanship award ... two-time Moore League singles and doubles champion for Lakewood High ... named the Long Beach Press-Telegram's Player of the Year in 2010 ... older brother, Sean, played tennis for Notre Dame and graduated in 2011, and her sister Stacey plays tennis for Stanford, where she is a junior ... Tan is coached by Robert Lansdorp, who has coached numerous top players, including pros Lindsay Davenport, Pete Sampras, and Maria Sharapova.
