Lauren Williams joined the women's hockey staff in September of 2025. The 2025-26 season will be her first with the Big Green.
Williams had a successful collegiate playing career at the University of Wisconsin before playing four years professionally in the Canadian Women’s Hockey League (CWHL) and transitioning to coaching.
She received her Bachelor of Arts in psychology and sociology from the University of Wisconsin before earning her Master of Education in counselling with a concentration in clinical mental health counseling from Springfield College.
“We can’t wait to get started with Lauren on our staff,” Crowell said. “She brings D1 playing experience from one of the best programs in NCAA women’s hockey. She also has professional coaching experience in the PWHL. Lauren is the perfect candidate to continue to elevate all aspects of Dartmouth Hockey.”
With the Big Green, Williams will be on the road recruiting and will assist in video breakdown and skill development.
Most recently, Williams spent two seasons as an assistant coach and mental performance coordinator for the New York Sirens of the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL). She evaluated players at training camp to help build the 26-player roster, determined line-ups, player activations, and free agency signings, assisted with opponent pre-scout, and facilitated individual and defensive pair video sessions through the course of the season.
Williams has also coached at the collegiate level, holding positions at Becker and Stonehill in its inaugural season, where she also served as a mental performance coordinator.
In addition to coaching, she has been in numerous mental performance coach roles, most recently at Elite High Performance for the past four years. Williams worked alongside elite athletes, both youth and professionals, to help them develop mental skills and tools to manage the stress that comes with high level sports.
Across all her mental performance roles, she has also conducted individualized meetings with athletes, providing guidance and assisting with the development of mental skills.
As a student-athlete at Wisconsin, Williams was a four-time WCHA League Champion, played in four straight NCAA Frozen Fours, and served as an assistant captain her senior season. She also earned numerous academic awards from the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA), American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA), and the Big Ten.
