Lisa Jackson joined the Dartmouth women's rugby program as an assistant coach in February of 2023.
“The team is thrilled to welcome Lisa to the Dartmouth women’s rugby family,” Head coach Katie Dowty said. “I have worked side-by-side with her in the USA age grade pathways and I know firsthand how passionate she is about her craft. No one works harder to make sure athletes are enjoying their experience and finding ways to improve their game.”
Jackson brings a wide range of experience to the program having coached at several levels, including USA Rugby, where she served as a shadow coach and a USA ID camp coach since 2019. She recently observed the USA staff in building the 2022 World Cup team while analyzing game film and overseeing goal setting. Jackson also served as an assistant coach for the Raleigh Venom and the Raleigh Vipers beginning in 2017 and successfully implemented player clinics, more than doubling the Venom’s roster size. Additionally, she filled the same role with the NC State men’s rugby club program beginning in 2020, working with the team’s forwards while facilitating recruiting and retention.
“I'm excited for the opportunity to join an already amazing Dartmouth family and to see what we grow into as I pour my energy and passion into this,” Jackson said. “My hope is that I can help empower these rugby players to not just be on the journey, but to be the actual journey through and through."
Jackson has been a member of the USA women’s XVs team player pool since 2019, along with the Atlanta Harlequins of the Women’s Premier League (WPL). In 2022, the league presented her with the Kathy Flores Heart of the WPL Award, given to an individual who passionately advocates for women’s rugby and seeks to elevate the game.
