Women's basketball began the Ivy season with a thrilling upset of rival Harvard on Saturday. Sophomore Katie Douglas stole the ball and directed it to teammate Annie McKenna for the winning bucket. On the ice the men's hockey team came from three goals down to upset Boston University, thanks in large part to the play of sophomore Drew O'Connor with a pair of goals.
Their efforts are rewarded by being named the Cape Air Athletes of the Week.
Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Cape Air Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.
Katie Douglas, So., Mendham, N.J., G, Women's Basketball
Katie Douglas finished with a game-high 19 points in Dartmouth's upset win over Harvard to begin Ivy League play Saturday afternoon. The sophomore connected on a career-high five 3-pointers, including the triple that brought the Big Green's deficit to one point, with 2:24 left in the game.
Douglas then made the game-winning play when she stole Harvard's inbounds pass with 17 seconds remaining to set up the go-ahead, last second, layup as Dartmouth went on to win 63-62.
