Eidur Baldvinsson had a standout performance for the Big Green last week. The sophomore forward scored two goals against the reigning national champions and nationally ranked No. 13 Vermont. In the 53rd minute, Trenton Blake sent the ball downfield to Baldvinsson who beat a defender and was in alone with the goalkeeper. He was patient with the ball, beating out the Catamounts keeper to score his first goal of the game and season. Less than ten minutes later, Baldvinsson found himself in a battle with the defense. He sensed the Catamounts defender would make a mistake and capitalized, putting the Big Green up by two goals. Baldvinsson’s two goals against Vermont matched his 2024 goal total.
