Carinn Betha was stellar for the Big Green as they captured the Golden Grizzly Classic title hosted by Oakland University last week. As the highest-scoring person on the women’s swimming and diving team, Bethea helped the Big Green beat two top-50 mid-major programs in Grand Canyon and Oakland. Bethea was event champion in the 200 freestyle and 100 freestyle, becoming the first-ever Dartmouth woman to break the 50 second barrier from a flat start in this event. She also competed in a number of events (individually and relay) that were now good for top 10 in program history. Among those was the 800 freestyle relay, which now ranks third in the Big Green’s all-time list.
