The Big Green are spreading holiday cheer around the world and at home. On the home front, freshman Sara McClanahan scored a shorthanded goal for the women's hockey team in a 4-2 win over Union.

Their efforts are rewarded by being named the DartmouthSports.com Athletes of the Week.

In Friday’s 4-2 win over Union, Sara McClanahan netted Dartmouth’s first shorthanded tally since the 2014-15 season. With the score tied at the five-minute mark of the second, McClanahan netted her shorthanded marker with less than 30 seconds left on the penalty kill after Billing's initial shot was rebounded directly to the freshman. Sophomore Katerina Dajia picked up her second collegiate point on the play.

McClanahan followed that up the next day by assisting on the Big Green’s only goal to end her weekend with two points.
