BREWSTER, Mass. -- The Dartmouth men's golf team earned its third runner-up finish of the fall, competing Monday and Tuesday at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship.
The Big Green put together a 36-hole total of 602, 10 shots off the pace set by the University of Rhode Island. A total of 45 schools competed on the two courses at New Seabury.
It was Dartmouth's best finish at the event since fall competition began in 1986-87.
Junior Matt Uretsky (Linwood, N.J.) was Dartmouth's low finisher. His scores of 76-71--147 put him in a tie for fifth. Freshman Alex Abate (Augusta, Ga.) was tied for 11th with 73-77--150.
Sophomore Jamie Wallace (Moorestown, N.J.) also made the top 20, with 76-76--152, good for a tie for 17th.
The tournament wrapped up the fall season for first-year head Coach Rich Parker.
