HANOVER, N.H. -- The Dartmouth men's and women's squash teams split their matches on Wednesday, as both defeated Tufts, but fell to Ivy rival Harvard.
The Big Green men were blanked by Harvard, 9-0. Playing at No. 4, Dartmouth freshman Ted Newhouse (Bronxville, N.Y.) lost a heartbreaker in five, 10-8, 9-5, 3-9, 5-9, 7-9.
Dartmouth bounced back with a 7-2 victory over the Jumbos. At No. 1, freshman Andrew Boumford (Winnipeg, Man.) outlasted Jake Gross of Tufts, 7-9, 6-9, 9-2, 9-0, 9-0.
The Harvard women won, 8-1. Dartmouth's lone win came at No. 8 where junior Heather Lisle (Philadelphia, Pa.) won in three, 10-8, 9-4, 9-2.
The Big Green swept Tufts, 9-0, as four Dartmouth players didn't allow their opponents a single point. Winning by 9-0, 9-0, 9-0 scores were senior Julia Drury (Buffalo, N.Y.), junior Avery Eyre (Philadelphia, Pa.), junior Emilie Mackie (Vancouver, B.C.) and Lisle.
