WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The Dartmouth men's and women's squash teams both picked up victories Wednesday night, defeating Williams.
The Big Green men scored a narrow, 5-4 victory as the top five players on the ladder all came through. At No. 1, Dartmouth freshman Andrew Boumford (Winnipeg, Man.) won in three over William Walter, 9-2, 10-8, 9-3.
Another freshman, Ted Newhouse (Bronxville, N.Y.), won in five games at No. 4, while junior Todd Wood (Jamestown, R.I.) and senior Adam Slutsky (Providence, R.I.) won in four games at Nos. 2 and 5, respectively.
The fifth point came from senior Hank Alexander (Cincinnati, Ohio) at No. 3 who won in three. That pushed Dartmouth's overall record to 5-1.
The Big Green women had an easier time, improving to 3-1 with an 8-1 victory over the Ephs. Senior Julia Drury (Buffalo, N.Y.) won, 9-3, 9-4, 9-6 at No. 1.
