ITHACA, N.Y. -- In Sunday's swimming and diving action, the Dartmouth women defeated Cornell, 182.5-117.5, but lost to Harvard, 187.5-109.5.
Big Green senior Melissa Kern (Saltsburg, Pa.) was a double winner, taking the 1000 freestyle in 10:35.98 and the 500 free in 5:07.85.
Sophomore Heather Jankins (Raynham, Pa.) tied for second in the 100 free with 54.23 after her third place effort in the 50 free with 25.07.
Dartmouth had four other runner-up finishes including junior Jackie Benson (Lynnwood, Wash.) in the 200 breaststroke with 2:26.22; senior Lizzie Rippe (Colleyville, Texas), 59.14 in the 100 fly; freshman Kathleen Brady (Upland, Calif.), 238.80 in three-meter diving; and junior Liz Mancuso (Andover, Mass.) in the 200 IM with 2:12.21.
The Big Green hosts Brown on Saturday, November 18 at 11 am in Karl Michael Pool.
