Malone and Freund Have Strong Finish for Dartmouth Equestrian at Nationals

HARRISBURG, Pa. - Dartmouth junior Tim Malone (Newtown, Conn.) and sophomore Daisy Freund (New York, N.Y.) finished third and seventh in their respective classes at Equestrian Nationals over the weekend.
Malone competed in the Cacchione Cup, a two-part class that includes the high-point scoring riders from each of the 27 regions in the country. After the first phase on the flat, Malone was sixth with a score of 89.5 out of a 100. However, a strong performance in the jumping round vaulted him up to a third place finish. Malone received a mark of 89 in the jumping round.
Freund competed in the Individual Open Fences and despite not getting the best horse draw was still able to manage a strong seventh place showing.
