The Dartmouth women's field hockey team has announced their class of 2010 as they prepare to fight for an Ivy League title.
The lone defender, Kaitlin Carey (Rye, N.Y.) played three years of field hockey at Rye High School and was the team captain her senior year. She was named All-League, All-Section, and All-State in both 2004 and 2005 after being an honorable mention All-League in 2003. Carey was also honored as an NFHCA All-American as a high school junior in 2004. She was also the captain of the soccer team, earning All-League honors in 2004 and 2005 and All-Section honors in 2005. Carey also participated on the track and field team.
Chelsea Dodds (Hanover, N.H.) played field hockey for four years at Hanover High School and was named the team's offensive most valuable player all four seasons. She became the team's captain and also won the team's rookie of the year honors as a freshman back in 2002. Dodds a four-year member of the ice hockey team at Hanover, earning rookie of the year honors as a freshman and later earning the Founder's Award as a senior. She was named the New Hampshire Female Scholar-Athlete in 2006.
The second forward of the class, Leigh Rorick (Toledo, Ohio) was a four-year member of the Maumee Valley Country Day School field hockey team, becoming captain her senior year and earning team most valuable player honors in 2005. She earned first team All-Ohio honors in 2004 and 2005 and was a three-time Academic All-Ohio honoree. Rorick also participated on the Futures Elite U-19 team in 2005 and 2006, and played at the Futures National Tournament in 2004 and 2005. She also played three years of basketball and lacrosse, being named captain of the lacrosse team as a senior after earning team MVP honors in 2005. She was also named her basketball team's defensive player of the year in 2006.
Allison Weinstock (Pittsburgh, Pa.) earned three letters in field hockey at Shady Side Academy, becoming a captain for both her junior and senior seasons. Her team won the WPIAL Championship twice, going undefeated her junior year and 17-2 her senior season. Weinstock recieved first team PIAA District 7 All-Star in 2004 and 2005. She earned four letters in ice hockey and lacrosse at Shady Side, and she was named the team captain in lacrosse her senior season.
