HANOVER, N.H. - Glen Wilson, most recently the head squash pro at New York Sports Clubs, has been named an assistant squash coach at Dartmouth. He will work with both the men's and women's teams with the Big Green.
"Though the team, community and I will miss David Heath, who did an excellent job over the last three years, we are all very excited about attracting such a talented and experienced professional as Glen," said head coach John Power. "Indeed, I am hoping that he will be with Dartmouth squash for sometime."
Prior to his work with the New York Sports Clubs, Wilson worked in his native New Zealand as the Squash New Zealand Coaching Development Manager from 2004 until 2006. During 2003 and 2004, he worked as the head pro at the Royal Oak Squash and Tennis Club in Auckland. Wilson spent five years in London from 1998-2003 as the squash pro at The Lambs Squash Club. Prior to that, he worked in Germany as the head squash pro at Castrop Rauxel in 1997-98. From 1993-97, Wilson was an assistant squash pro at the Manhatten Club in Vienna, Austria.
As a player, Wilson played the PSA World Tour from 1990-99 and was ranked as high as 24th in the world. A three-time New Zealand national champion, he represented his country more times than any other individual in squash history. Wilson won a silver medal in mixed doubles at the 2004 World Championship. At the 2002 Commonwealth Games, he won a gold medal in mixed doubles and in 1998 he won a bronze medal in mixed doubles.
Wilson holds several coaching certifications. He is level 1 and 2 certified in New Zealand and a Squash New Zealand High Performance Coach. He is also level 2 certified in England.
