HANOVER, N.H. - Though on break from competing for the Green, the last month has been an exciting one for the Dartmouth women's tennis team.
Senior co-captain
Lindsay Winingham and freshman
Mary Beth Winingham of Carmel, Ind., earned a #14 ITA Eastern Regional ranking for the fall of 2006. They were one of five Ivy League teams to earn a regional ranking. The region's top-ranked team was Megan Moulton-Levy and Katarina Zoricic of William and Mary (who are also the top-ranked team in the nation). The Wininghams were 5-1 this fall, and won the Big Green Invitational.
Junior
Megan Zebroski (Port Washington, N.Y.) and freshman
Julia Zak (Bernardsville, N.J.) reached the doubles final of the USTA National Open Indoor Championship at the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, N.Y., on December 31. The unseeded Dartmouth duo ousted the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds en route to the final, where they were stopped by the top-seeded team of Nikola Hubnerova and Julia Koulbitskaya 6-3, 6-1. For reaching the final, they were both awarded coveted USTA silver balls. Zebroski was first-team All Ivy in doubles as a freshman, and second team All Ivy in singles and doubles as a sophomore.
