Dartmouth Swimmers Drop Ivy Meets to Penn, Yale

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - On Saturday, the Dartmouth men's and women's swim teams fell to both Penn and Yale in an Ivy League tri-meet hosted by the Quakers.
The Big Green men lost to Penn, 231.5-68.5 and also to Yale, 217-78. The women suffered similar results, falling to Penn, 233-67, and to the Elis, 249-51.
For the Dartmouth men, junior Andrew Berry (Middleton, Wis.) was a double winner in one-meter diving with 316.85 and on the three-meter board with 344.35.
Sophomore Kevin Ellis (Centennial, Colo.) won the 500 free in 4:36.85 and was second in the 1000, 9:36.25.
For the Big Green women, senior Melissa Kern (Saltsburg, Pa.) had the top finishes, winning the 500 free in a school-record time of 4:56.94 and taking runner-up honors in the 1000 free in 10:19.09.
The Dartmouth women return to action on Friday, January 26, hosting Northeastern at 6 p.m.
The two teams will combine on Sunday, January 28 to host Princeton with the women starting at 11 a.m. and the men following at 2 p.m.
