Dartmouth Sailors Fifth at ICSA/APS Team Race National Championship
ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Dartmouth sailing team took fifth place at the Intercollegiate Sailing Association/Annapolis Performance Sailing Team Race National Championship that concluded Tuesday.
After winning the women's national championship last week, St. Mary's made it two for two by compiling a 12-5 record in the head-to-head competition and winning the Gold Division.
Yale (11-6) was the runner-up, followed by Hobart/William Smith (11-6), Harvard (9-7) and Dartmouth (7-7. A total of 14 teams competed.
Dartmouth was represented by seniors Andrew Loe (New Orleans, La.),
Killarney Loufek (Costa Mesa, Calif.),
Erik Storck (Huntington, N.Y.) and
Kate Hacker (Greenville, Del.) in addition to juniors
Betsy Bryant (Tampa, Fla.) and
Ben Sampson (Plymouth, Mass.).
The final national event - the ICSA/Gill National Coed Dinghy Championship - takes place at Annapolis May 30-June 1. Dartmouth is one of 18 schools to qualify.
