Dartmouth's Bonacci Named Academic All-America First Team
HANOVER, N.H. - Dartmouth's
Nick Bonacci (Crofton, Md.), twice a first team All-Ivy attacker on the men's lacrosse team, has been named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America at-large first team.
Bonacci, who graduated last Sunday with a 3.88 GPA and a major in economics, was joined on the first team by two other Ivy League lacrosse players - Matt McMonagle and Mitch Belisle of Cornell. Chosen by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the team includes every NCAA sport except football, soccer, volleyball, basketball, baseball, softball and track and field.
A three-year starter and four-year letterwinner for the Big Green, this year Bonacci was voted honorable mention All-America and academic All-America by USILA (United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association). Along with those honors he was named First Team All-NEILA (New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association) and NEILA Player of the Year.
He graduated fourth all-time at Dartmouth in assists with 80 and fifth all-time in points with 158. Earlier this month he was selected by the Long Island Lizards in the Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft, the fourth pick of fourth round, 34th overall.
