PRINCETON, N.J.—Dartmouth men's lacrosse closed out the 2026 season on Saturday against No. 2 Princeton. The Big Green fell 17-9 to the Tigers.
The Big Green struck first with back to back goals in the first four minutes. William Stahl scored at the 13:51 mark before Emmett Paradine scored at the 11:00 mark to give Dartmouth a 2-0 lead. Princeton scored the next three goals before Alex Jessey tied the game at three. Princeton took the lead back just seven seconds later but Quinn Stankovits scored the fourth Dartmouth goal at the 2:09 mark. With 13 seconds left in the quarter Thomas Power gave the Big Green the 5-4 lead. Off the ensuing faceoff, Princeton tied the game at five with one second left on the clock.
Princeton scored the first four goals of the second quarter and took a 9-5 lead. Paradine stopped the run at the 5:08 mark as he scored his second goal of the game. The Tigers scored once more before the end of the half and took a 10-6 lead to the locker room.
Jessey scored the first goal of the third quarter just nine seconds into the frame. The Tigers scored the next seven goals, five in the third quarter and two in fourth quarter. With 2:18 left in regulation John Stenberg scored the eighth Dartmouth goal. With 56 seconds left, Hopper Zappitello found the back of the net to end the game.
Max Becker started in net for Dartmouth and made seven saves in just under 26 minutes. Kevin Bryan played the final 34:20 and made 13 saves.
Stu Gates led Dartmouth with three points as he tallied three assists. Jessey and Paradine scored twice while Power and Stankovits each had one goal and one assist.
The Big Green forced Princeton into 14 turnovers, Dartmouth and Brown are the only two Ivy League teams to force the Tigers into 14 or more turnovers. Both Jesse Phelan and Marco Dzamba each had two caused turnovers. Phelan led Dartmouth with five ground balls while Thomas Goguen had four.
Jessey finishes the season as the leading scorer for Dartmouth with 50 points and 31 goals. Jessey, Power, and Gates each tallied 20+ goals while each had 35+ points.
Goguen ends his Dartmouth career with 74 caused turnovers, this season he led Dartmouth with a career high 25. He leads the Ivy League in caused turnovers and caused turnovers per game.
The Big Green will be back on the field in early 2027 for the 101st year of Dartmouth lacrosse.
