Winston-Salem, N.C..- The Dartmouth women's tennis team had a solid showing in the final day of competition at the Wake Forest Deacon Classic.
The Big Green sent six players to the semifinals of singles flights and while none of them reached the finals, many had success in consolation brackets.
After losing her first match in Flight-Three, sophomore
Jesse Adler (Winnetka, Ill.) rallied to win the backdraw with a 7-6 (4), 6-2 victory over Charlotte's Koren Fleming. Classmate
Mary Beth Winingham (Carmel, Ind.) also won a backdraw, in Flight-Four with a gutsy 6-4, 7-6 (6) win over Alison Rauh of Davidson.
Freshman
Ashley Mitchell (Charleston, S.C.) won the Flight-Six backdraw, 6-0, 7-6 (6) over Yana Stoeva of Charlotte.
Adler and senior
Maggie Suydam (Marblehead, Mass.) battled to the Flight-Two doubles final, falling to Clark and Guerreiro of Indiana.
Winingham and freshman
Molly Scott (Trabuco Cyn, Calif.) took third in the Flight-One doubles backdraw.
