Munich, Germany? Dartmouth heavyweight rowing alumnus Dominic Seiterle '98 became a world champion last weekend, winning a gold medal as part of the Canadian heavyweight eight at the 2007 World Rowing Championships in Munich, Germany.
The championship capped an impressive international racing season for Seiterle and the Canadian eight, which also won the first and second 2007 World Cup Regattas in Linz, Austria, and Lucerne, Switzerland.
Seiterle, a Montreal native, returned to rowing this year after a seven-year break following the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, where he raced in the Canadian double, finishing 13th. He will soon return to the Canadian national team training center to defend his seat and train for the upcoming Beijing Olympics.
