HANOVER, N.H. - The Dartmouth swimming and diving program has been recognized as the nation's top-ranked academic squad for the second-straight season.
The College Swimming Coaches Association of American (CSCAA) released its Academic honors this past week and the Big Green took the overall crown with a stellar 3.58 grade point average for the men and women combined. The Big Green ranked first on the men's side with the nation's best team gpa of 3.60 while the women were third with a 3.56.
Other Ivies in the combined top-ten include Yale, second at 3.552 and Harvard, eighth at 3.319. Yale and New Mexico State edged the Dartmouth women while the Yale men were just behind the Dartmouth men.
"Every man and woman who is a part of this program has contributed to Dartmouth's tradition of athletic and academic success," said Jim Wilson, head coach of both the men's and women's teams. "We're proud to represent the College and equally proud to accept this honor."
