Dartmouth Sailing Enjoys Success in Final Two Regattas

HANOVER, N.H. ? The Dartmouth sailing team finished the fall with impressive showings at the women's Atlantic Coast Championships and the coed Atlantic Coast Tournament, which will factor into the Big Green moving up in the national rankings.

At the Atlantic Coast Championships, the crew of junior Becca Dellenbaugh (Easton, Conn.), senior Sarah Johnston (Carson City, Nev.) and junior Steph Gagnon (Westerly, R.I.) finished first in the B Division with 60 points, while Georgetown took second with 70 points.

The Big Green crew of senior Kendall Reiley (Marblehead, Mass.), sophomore Courtney Gerwin (Tucson, Ariz.) and Johnson took 10th in the A Division, which gave Dartmouth the fifth place finish overall at the championships. With the fifth-place showing, the Big Green will likely move up from its current national ranking of 12th.

Dartmouth also sent a coed team to the Atlantic Coast Tournament at Boston University and the Big Green came out in fourth place out of 16 teams. Dartmouth finished with 46 points, while Yale took the win with 38 points. The Big Green's top finish came in the B Division as sophomore Ed Jude Glackin (Huntington, N.Y.) and junior Sarah Freihofer (Etna, N.H.) took fifth place for 22 points. In the A Division, freshman Sam Willams (Summit, N.J.) and Anne Megarget (Charlottesville, Va.) finished in the sixth position with 24 points.
