HANOVER, N.H. - After a disappointing UVM carnival, the Dartmouth ski team trounced the competition this weekend with excellent performances in both the cross-country and alpine races.
As always, the cross-country teams proved their excellence and consistency with freshmen Ida Sargent winning the 15-kilometer free style race held at the Dartmouth Cross-Country Center with a time of 51:13.1. Her freshmen teammate Rosie Brennan was right behind her in second place, with Alexa Turzian from Middlebury in third. Dartmouth captain and senior,

Juergen Uhl from UVM won the men's 25-kilometer free style race with a time of 1:00.38 with Middlebury's Simeon Hamilton behind him in second and Dartmouth sophomore

Glenn Randall, yesterday's second place finisher in the classic race, finished fourth with junior teammate Dakota Blackhorse Von-Jess finishing 11th and freshmen Nils Koons, who finished third in yesterday's classic race, finishing 12th.
Dartmouth freshmen, Courtney Hammond coupled yesterday's giant slalom victory with a win in today's slalom race held at the Dartmouth Skiway. Hammond won the race with a time of 1:45.32 and was followed by Jilyne McDonald from UVM. Dartmouth sophomore

Charles Christianson from Williams won the men's slalom race with a time of 1:33.14 with Middlebury's Andrew Wagner behind him in second and Colby's Vincent Lebrun-Fortin in third. The Dartmouth alpine men had some trouble in today's slalom with captain and senior Dave Chodounsky hiking in his first run and freshmen Ace Tarberry, who placed third in yesterday's slalom, hiking in his second run. Rusty Heise lead the Big Green men with his 17th place finish, with sophomore
Francis Fortin-Houle in 24th and senior
Eric Cates behind him in 26th.
Despite a difficult day for the alpine men, Dartmouth won the overall carnival with a total of 725 points. Middlebury was second with 697 points and UVM was third with 664 points.
Williams will host the next EISA Carnival on Feb. 15-16.
