The Dartmouth sailing team had a series of excellent showings over the weekend, as it sent competitors to four different regattas. The Big Green made an appearance at the Brad Dellenbaugh Women's Trophy at Brown, the Ferrarone Team Race Intersectional at Rhode Island, and the Team Race Series at Roger Williams, as well as continuing the Southern Series at Salve Regina.
The Dellenbaugh Trophy was a particularly competitive regatta which saw participation from 13 of the top 15 ranked women's teams in the country. Nevertheless, Dartmouth finished eighth overall, as sophomore
Becca Dellenbaugh (Easton, Conn.), sailing with classmate
Steph Gagnon (Westerly, R.I.) and junior
Sarah Johnston (Carson City, Nev.), finished fourth in the A Division. Senior
Adele Wilhelm (Chicago, Ill.), with Johnston and freshman
Courtney Gerwin (Tucson, Ariz.), finished ninth in the B Division.
Dartmouth saw an exciting first-place finish at the Southern Series, finishing one point ahead of second-place Salve Regina, and took seventh at the Ferrarone Team Race Intersectional with a 7-11 record in the two rounds of competition. At the Team Race Series on March 30, the Big Green finished tied for second with Tufts, with a 4-2 record for the day.
Next week will see Dartmouth sailors at Stanford's St. Francis Intersectional, Massachusetts Maritime's Admiral Alymers Regatta, and the Friis/Marchiando Team Race, joint hosted by MIT and Tufts.
