SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. ? It was an exciting weekend for the Dartmouth sailing team, as the women traveled to the west coast for the Stanford University-hosted St. Francis Intersectional. Finishing fifth in a field of 31, the Big Green women handled breezy conditions very well against co-ed opponents.
The A division was particularly successful for Dartmouth, as sophomore Becca Dellenbaugh (Easton, Conn.) and junior Sarah Johnston (Carson City, Nev.) finished third with 62 points. In the B division, junior Kendall Reiley (Marblehead, Mass.) and sophomore Kathy Oprea (Berea, Ohio) took eighth place with a score of 99.
With a combined score of 161 in the A and B divisions, Dartmouth finished fifth, behind the fourth-place Stanford women and ahead of UC Santa Barbara.
Next weekend will see Big Green sailors at MIT's Central Series and Oberg Trophy, URI's Moody Trophy, Tufts' Women's Duplin, and the New England Dinghy Champs at Salve Regina.
