Meet the Dartmouth Field Hockey Class of 2012

HANOVER, N.H. - The Dartmouth field hockey team and head coach Amy Fowler will be welcoming six new members to the 2008 squad, including two from New England.

Before Dartmouth: Four-year letterwinner and team captain for field hockey at Morristown-Beard ... won the gold medal at the 2007 National Hockey Festival as a member of the Spirit Eagles ... named to the New Jersey All-Prep First Team and Colonial Hills Conference First Team as a senior ... earned second team honors for the Colonial Hills Conference in 2006 ... two-time New Jersey All-Prep honorable mention.

Personal: Sarah Elisabeth Alderman was born on June 22, 1990 ... daughter of Keith and Anne Alderman ... has three sisters ... was a member of the French National Honor Society in high school.

Before Dartmouth: Played three years of field hockey and lacrosse at Darien High School ... member of the 2007 FCIAC and Connecticut State Champions in field hockey and lacrosse ... named to first team All-FCIAC and All-State ... selected as a junior Olympian in 2006 ... two-time participant (2006,2007) in the Futures National Tournament ... 2006 lacrosse FCIAC Champion and state runner-up.

Personal: Katherine Reilly Cobb was born on January 18, 1990 ... daughter of Chet and Mary Kay ... has two sisters ... sister, Sally, plays field hockey at Williams College ... Faifield University Book Award winner and a National Merit Commended Scholar.

In 2007, earned a spot on the National Athletic Academic Squad and was awarded the Leadership Award ... honored with Athletic Excellence in 2007 ... garnered All-Conference in five events for track and field and holds the school record in the long jump, 4x100, 4x400, Sprint Medley Relay and 300m hurdles.

Personal: Jessica Huang Chen was born on November 25, 1989 ... daughter of Liqian Chen and Weihang Huang ... she has earned the Bronze and Silver Community Service Award and she was an AP Scholar with Distinction.

Personal: Meghan Lea Everett was born on August 29, 1990 ... daughter of Steve Everett and Nancy L. Connor ... has two brothers ... brother, Matt, plays football, rugby, and track and field at Hamilton College ... Everett was a volunteer at the SAFE in Hunterdon, which is a local domestic violence agency.

Personal: Kelly Hood was born on January 28, 1990 ... daughter Robert and Patricia Hood ... has one brother, Erik ... brother played baseball at Bates College ... was an Academic All-American in 2007-08 and was a Kenyon College Book Award recipient.

Courier News First Team All-Area and Second Team Group 3 North Jersey Field Hockey Coaches Association as a senior ... voted team MVP last season ... earned All-Conference recognition in the high jump in 2007 ... holds school record in a combined four events in both indoor and outdoor track and field.
