HANOVER, N.H. - The Dartmouth men's and women's squash teams both earned 9-0 victories over visiting Amherst College on Wednesday. The victory moves the men to 7-3 on the season while the women improve to 4-2.
On the men's side, all but two wins were earned in three games. Nicholas Sisodia's (Chicago, Ill.) match at No. 2 was tight early on but he closed it out with a 9-2 victory. Michael Lewis (Santa Barbara, Calif.) at No. 4 lost the first game, 7-9 but came back to take the next three. Tyler Young (Charleston, S.C.) at No. 7 seemed to have the easiest time, losing just three three total points.
For the women all nine Big Green wins came in three games. Both Libbey Brown (Lutherville, Md.) and Maura Doherty (Brooklyn, N.Y) had easy times with their matches at Nos. 3 and 4, losing just 10 points between the two of them while sophomore Taylor Tully (Princeton, N.J.) won easily, 9-3, 9-0, 9-0 at No. 5. Elizabeth Weintraub (Brooklyn, N.Y.) at No. 7 and Julia Watson (Rocky Mountain, N.C.) at No. 9 both put their opponents away quickly, helping Dartmouth secure its fourth 9-0 win of the season.
Both squads will be back in action on Saturday, Jan.
17 with a home match against Trinity, starting at 11:00 am in the Berry
Racquet Center.
