Dartmouth Squash Splits Match with Ivy Rival, Brown

HANOVER, N.H. - The Dartmouth squash teams had an Ivy match against Brown on Saturday morning. The Big Green men defeated the Bears, 9-0 while the women fell, 5-4. The victory moves the men's squad to 11-5 overall, 1-3 in the Ivy League while the women fall to 7-6, 0-4 Ivy.

On the men's side the first four positions won in three sets as Andrew Boumford (Winnipeg, Man.) at No. 1, Ted Newhouse (Bronxville, N.Y.) at No. 2, Michael Lewis (Santa Barbara, Calif.) at No. 3 and Brian O'Toole (Short Hills, N.J.) at No. 4 earned wins for Dartmouth. Michael Shrubb (Devonshire, Bermuda) had a tough time putting away Brown's Patrick Davis at No. 5 but the junior prevailed. Tyler Young (Charleston, S.C.) at No. 6 and Ted Schroeder (Wynnewood, Pa.) at No. 9 each won easily as Stephen Wetherill (Ambler, Pa.) at No. 7 and Luke Lee (Exeter, N.H.) at No. 8 both had their opponents win sets.

For the women the Big Green had a tougher time as an exciting match ensued. Dartmouth won at the top three spots as Hannah Conant (Philadelphia, Pa.), Madeline Lurio (Merion, Pa.) and Libbey Brown (Lutherville, Md.) won at 1, 2 and 3, respectively. Danielle Fuschetti (Tinton Falls, N.J.) was able to win at No. 8 but it wasn't enough as Brown held on for the 5-4 win.
