PRINCETON, N.J. — The first two rounds of the First Annual Ivy League Men's Golf Match Play event were played today, and Dartmouth ended up splitting its two matches. Each team consists of five players competing in match play against the five golfers of its opponent. The Harvard Crimson edged the Big Green in the opening round, 3-2, before Dartmouth responded by knocking off Cornell in the consolation bracket, 4-1. Individual results were not available for the first two rounds.
Yale and Penn will go head-to-head on Sunday to determine the champion of the event. The Bulldogs survived against both Princeton and Columbia, 3-2, while Penn did the same to Cornell and Harvard.
The Crimson and Columbia will square off in the third-place match, the Big Green will go up against Princeton for fifth place, and Brown and Cornell will vie for seventh.
