HANOVER, N.H. - The Dartmouth women's tennis team went 35-2 in the three days of competition at the Big Green Invite and 13-1 on the final day with singles and doubles titles.
Overall the singles competition had co-champions as senior Mary Beth Winingham (Carmel, Ind.) and senior captain Jesse Adler (Winnetka, Ill.) both earned the honor. Adler defeated Candynce Boney of UMass in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1, while Winingham took down the Minutewomen's Julia Comas after dropping the first set and she went on to win 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.
In doubles, Winingham and junior Molly Scott (Trabuco Canyon, Calif.) paired up to win the doubles title after shutting out Boney and Maude Lecluyse of UMass, 8-0, on the final day of competition.
Sophomore Carissa King (Charlotte, N.C.) won convincingly on the final day, not allowing her opponent to pick up a game and finished with a 6-0-, 6-0, victory in her last match of the fall.
