HANOVER, N.H. - For the first time in 12 matches against Boston College, Dartmouth's men's tennis team lost 5-2. The Eagles swept the doubles matches and added four singles victories en route to the win over the Big Green.
Stephen Greif (San Antonio, Texas) and Justin Tzou (Cupertino, Calif.) provided the two points for Dartmouth with wins as the third- and fourth-seeded singles. Curtis Roby (New York, N.Y.) and Ari Gayer (Hollis, N.Y.), playing as the second- and fifth-seeded singles, respectively, forced third sets in their matches. Although both players were tied or even in their third sets, neither could record a win for the Big Green.
Daniel Freeman (Chatsworth, Calif.), who has been teamed with Greif in the top doubles spot in the last four matches, recorded a loss for the first time in his last seven doubles matches.
With the win over Dartmouth, Boston College claimed its fourth win over an Ivy opponent in three weeks.
Dartmouth falls to 2-5 on the season and takes to the road this weekend, playing Furman on Saturday at 7:00 pm. The Big Green will also play Clemson on the trip, slated for a 2:30 pm start on Sunday.
