KINGSTON, R.I. ? Pete Williamson (Hanover, N.H.) led Dartmouth men's golf to a fourth place finish at the 2009 Northeast Invitational with a two-day score of 147 (73-74) as he tied for fourth place. The Big Green finished in fourth as well with a team score of 605 (297-308).
Williamson fell by six strokes to Sacred Heart's Pat Filian. Filian won his second consecutive victory in tournaments involving Dartmouth.
Davis Mullany (Great Barrington, Mass.) finished one shot behind Willamson, tying for sixth while shooting 148 (75-73) for the tournament. Senior Alex Abate (Augusta, Ga.) tied for tenth with a total of 151 (71-80). Dan Egan (Rye, N.Y.) and Rob Henley (Longmeadow, Mass.) rounded out the Big Green team with scores of 159 (78-81) and 166 (85-81), respectively.
Sacred Heart claimed the team title, shooting a two-round score of 590. The University of Hartford (593) and the University of Rhode Island (598) finished between the Pioneers and Dartmouth.
The Big Green will compete for the Ivy League Championship April 24, 25 and 26.
