Williamson Nine Over After First Round

GALLOWAY, N.J. ? Nine strokes separate Dartmouth freshman Peter Williamson (Hanover, N.H.) and the leader after the first round of the Northeast Regional in the 2009 NCAA Men's Golf Championship. Williamson shot an 80 on the first 18 holes while Darren Renwick of the University of Tennessee leads the pack with his par score of 71.
Williamson, currently tied for 44th, opened the front nine with five bogeys to make the turn at five-over par. On the tenth hole, he scored his first birdie of the day to cut it to four over. Williamson's second birdie came on the par-three 14th hole after he bogeyed the previous hole.
On the last three holes, Williamson shot five-over par to finish the day with a score of nine-over par.
Williamson is scheduled to tee off at 8:50 am on Friday, the second day of the three-day tournament.
