HANOVER, N.H. ? Freshman
Peter Williamson (Hanover, N.H.) has chalked up two more trophies following his championship performance in the Ivy League Men's Golf Championship.
The Ivy League coaches have voted Williamson as the inaugural Ivy League Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year. Williamson (69-69-73 ? 211) defeated Eric Salazar (69-70-72 ? 211) of Princeton in a three-hole playoff to become the fourth Dartmouth golfer to claim the Ivy title.
Williamson joins Sandy McWilliams (1970), Mark Trauner (1983) and Bryan Kim (1995) as Big Green Ivy men's champions.
By medaling in the Ivy Championship, Williamson qualified for the NCAA Regional Tournament, with the site and dates still to be determined.
