HANOVER, N.H. - Dartmouth sophomore Molly Scott (Trabuco Canyon, Calif.) is now ranked eighth in singles in the East as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association released its regional rankings last week.
Scott is ranked eighth and is fourth among Ivy League players, joining Harvard's Beier Ko, Princeton's Lauren McHale and Janet Kim of Yale. She was voted as the Big Green's most valuable player this past season and was named a unanimous first team All-Ivy selection.
Scott had an 11-7 mark in singles play for the Big Green as she played each team's toughest competitor. During the Ivy League season she went 5-2 and posted three-straight wins to begin the Ivy schedule. The three-consecutive victories became her longest winning streak of the season. She missed a few matches early on in the year due to injury, but fought back to the starting lineup and went out west for the Spring Trip and amassed a 2-2 record with wins over Cal State Northridge and UC Santa Barbara.
Scott and teammate Mary Beth Winingham (Carmel, Ind.) were also ranked in the latest regional rankings as the duo sits in the ninth position. The two played all year long as the No. 1 doubles team on the Big Green.
Dartmouth was also ranked in the regional at No. 14. Virginia was the top team in the rankings, followed by Virginia Commonwealth at No. 2.
