Dartmouth Equestrian Finishes Second at Middlebury

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - In the second Show of its opening weekend, the Dartmouth equestrian team finished second out of eight teams at the Middlebury Show.

Five riders placed first in their respective events. The Big Green were led by its underclassmen as two sophomores and two freshmen finished first as rookies Janna Wandzilak (Waxhaw, N.C.) was first in novice flat with classmate Katrina Zandberg (Chatsworth, Calif.) first in beginning walk/trot/canter. Sophomores Kelly Tropin (New Canaan, Conn.) and Abby Franklin (Wilmont, N.H.) were first in open flat and advanced walk/trot/canter, respectively. Senior Sarah Spangenburg (Atlanta, Ga.) was first in intermediate flat.

Sophomore Trevy Wing (East Falmouth, Mass.) finished second in walk/trot.

Dartmouth will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 16, hosting its own show at Morton Farms. Then on Sunday, Oct. 17 the Big Green travels down I-89 for the Colby Sawyer Show.
