Stewart Qualifies for Main Draw at ITA Regional

HANOVER, N.H. — Freshman Sabrina Stewart (London, England) upset the No. 7 seed from Harvard and a player from Columbia to qualify for the main draw of the USTA ITA Northeast Regional Championships at the Boss Tennis Center Friday. Stewart defeated Harvard's Hannah Morrill; 6-2, 6-2, in the first round, and then downed Columbia's Tiana Takenaga; 6-0, 6-2.

Play resumes tomorrow at 8 a.m. with doubles. Starting times are as follows for Dartmouth:
Doubles:
-Jeri Reichel/Christina Danosi: 8 a.m.
-Rachel Decker-Sadowski/Georgie Smyser: 9 a.m.
-Melissa Matsuoka/Molly Scott: 11 a.m.

Singles:
-Rachel Decker-Sadowski vs. Monika Mical, Boston University: 3:15 p.m.
-Ryan Reichel vs. Adi Petrova, Buffalo: 3:15 p.m.
-Sabrina Stewart vs. Sinzia Chis, Cornell: 3:30 p.m.
-Molly Scott (5) received a bye and plays Sunday
-Melissa Matsuoka vs. Katherine Flanigan, Princeton: 3:45 p.m.
-Georgiana Smyser received a bye and plays Sunday
